Welcome

Welcome to the San Antonio Military Medical Center – North (SAMMC) Clark/Hunt website. Here you can learn more about some of the exciting healthcare projects getting underway and how you can join Clark/Hunt, A Joint Venture as part of a team that's destined to make military history in San Antonio, Texas.

In July 2008, the United States Army, Corps of Engineers chose Clark/Hunt, A Joint Venture as the Integrated Design-Bid-Builder (IDBB) for the San Antonio Military Medical Center – North. IDBB is an acquisition methodology that allows the constructor to interface with the Architect of record, The USACE, and End-User groups during the period from Design Development through 100% completion of each Work Package. This project marks a new day in many respects for the United States military. The Clark/Hunt IDBB contract is one of the first of its kind for the Army; as well, this project will forever mark the City of San Antonio history pages, as one of the single-largest construction projects in the City’s history. This project includes nearly 700,000 square feet of new hospital space, renovation of existing medical space in excess of 280,000 square feet, a new Central Energy Plant, and a new parking structure with a total of nearly 5,000 new parking spots. Total project costs are estimated at nearly $557 million.

The Clark/Hunt team is made up of two distinguished and diverse companies with unparalleled experience in building large-scale projects. Clark Construction Group, LLC, has participated directly in building over 120 hospitals and currently has six (6) more under construction Hunt Construction Group has an extensive history in the healthcare arena with a myriad of projects completed, including construction participation in over 100 healthcare facilities with four (4) currently underway.

Clark/Hunt is excited to be part of this monumental effort and we all look forward to providing the United States Army with not only a beautiful, new state-of-the-art medical facility, but a San Antonio landmark that its military and civilian residents are proud of and its visitors will remember for a lifetime.
